Senior Web Developer – Frontend developer (Remote)
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Senior Web Developer to join Veeva’s IT Commercial Systems team. In this role, you will lead backend development efforts for Veeva.com and other marketing websites. Your expertise in PHP, WordPress, and React.js will help enhance site functionality, architecture, security, and performance.
As part of a cross-functional team, you will collaborate with frontend developers to build custom features, create seamless integrations, and ensure best practices in web development.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance custom site features to meet business needs.
- Build enterprise-level WordPress plugins and themes using PHP, React.js, and Gutenberg blocks.
- Integrate third-party APIs and internal systems.
- Ensure high-level security practices in all development processes.
- Optimize website architecture for scalability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and debug performance issues across different browsers and devices.
- Implement best practices in WordPress, PHP, and JavaScript development.
- Maintain clear documentation and foster knowledge-sharing within the team.
- Monitor and enhance website performance in real-time.
Required Qualifications
✔ Expertise in PHP development, with a strong background in WordPress.
✔ Experience in React.js & Gutenberg block development.
✔ Deep understanding of performance optimization & caching strategies.
✔ Proficiency in Unix command-line operations.
✔ Hands-on experience with site architecture and scalability.
✔ Ability to troubleshoot and optimize MySQL database queries.
✔ Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
✔ Autonomous and proactive approach in a remote work setting.
✔ Experience in version control systems (Git) for managing branches, merges, and code reviews.
✔ Familiarity with RESTful APIs and data formats (JSON, XML).
✔ 5+ years of experience developing WordPress websites.
Preferred Skills
➕ Experience with modern JavaScript & TypeScript (React, Node.js).
➕ Knowledge of SEO best practices for optimized website performance.
➕ Understanding of UX/UI design principles.
➕ Expertise in caching systems & content delivery networks (CDNs).
➕ Experience in developing multilingual & localized websites.
